Introduction

Colours of Infinity

Colours of Infinity is a series of mods by Lava Del'Vortel. The first release in this project is called Tales of the Deep Gardens. Innershade is the second. The series will include a number of small mods that will add some mysterious, intriguing and sometimes abstract aspects to the game. Be prepared to see interesting new areas and take part in mystical adventures.

Innershade

Follow a path between the trees to find a very new village to visit: the village of Innershade. It's been having some problems lately: some people disappeared, and the attacker was never seen. You must stop the guilty party, if you can. Solving the problem may be not enough; getting rid of the attacker is only one of the ways to handle this. The second is understanding the motives and past that became a great burden. In the end, you may have to become a judge of sorts.

In the village, you will also find some minor problems, and even a little affair. Meet Eva, a female blacksmith with a really explosive character. Listen to Li'l Bud's tales about heroes and villains. If you are a bard, maybe you will learn a new skill from a not-too-kind minstrel. Don't forget to visit Granny Bunny, a really nice and kind elderly lady, who will tell you some stories from her past. What else can she offer? Hot tea with some jam, homemade biscuits, and a warm smile.

Installation

PC

Innershade is a WeiDU mod, packaged in an extractable .RAR archive. Simply unrar "innershade_v1.rar" (WinRAR) into your Baldur's Gate II directory and run "Setup-Innershade.exe".

To uninstall, run "setup-Innershade.exe" again and select the uninstall option.

Compatibility and Installation Order

This mod was created for BG2: SoA, though it is recommended that you have ToB installed. There are known incompatibilites, but Innershade should work with other WeiDU mods if you keep the following in mind:.

Component 0 - Innershade

The main component of the mod. It cointains the quest.

Component 1 - New animations. May not be compatibile with other mods that alter animations with the older method. (Overrides wigh1 and wigh2 slots)

This component adds 2 new animations for enemies who you will fight in the mod. Unfortunetally, this one isn't part of the Infinity Animations, because it includes only some renamed .bam files prepared by Cuv. The mod will work perfectly even if the component isn't installed.

Component 2 - NPC talks

This component includes some new talks for original Bioware NPCs, so if you have a suitable party build, you may expect a chat or two.

Component 3 - Innershade and the area addition

This component is separated into 2 different possibilities. You may add Innershade to the worldmap or not. One of those 2 possibilities MUST be installed. Otherwise, the mod won't work as it should. If you have problems with adding to WMP component, just install the second option, or before insalling the component, launch the game and make sure there is at least one savegame. That should serve the purpose. This component should be compatibile with Worldmap Mod.

Although it is not required for Innershade to function properly, it is always a good idea install the latest version of the BG2 Fixpack.

Mod Information

Innershade is a second Colours of Infinity mod that allows the player to visit a brand new location. To reach it, you have to find a map; it shouldn't be a hard task! There are 9 new locations, some new people with whom you may chat, some minor quests and one main quest. You will be also able to learn some new abilities. One of those is special, and is an important part of the quest. This project also offers players some new items and a friendship path with Granny Bunny. Suggested party level is 9th and higher.

Crossmod

All completed mods from the Colours of Infinity series include/will include crossmod content. All completed CoI projects are linked together. There is small crossmod with Tales of the Deep Gardens. You may also find some lines mentioning TotDG even if the first CoI mod isn't installed. There is also crossmod with Yvette Romance, the 3rd CoI project. What's more Kwiat_W's GUI includes mos that changes Innershade text screen.

I would like to thank all those who helped me and who supported me with a kind word. I am a person who isn't easygoing all the time, and I know working with me sometimes may be quite difficult. Thanks to SHS and CoB forums and to all those who decided to give this mod a chance!
